Dead Baby Birds are a three-piece rock band formed in Romford, Essex in early 2009 whilst the band were still at school, with help from the Havering Rock School Project created by, and held at, MusicTek Studios, Dagenham.
Dead Baby Birds\' own original compositions [and the songs we cover] are a hybrid of [and not strictly limited to] the following styles that fall under the rock music umbrella; Punk / New Prog / Hard rock / Metal / Hard Funk. In one song you may hear us play an intense heavy workout - the next may hear us take a more melodic approach with an anthemic Power Ballad. The Dead Baby Birds sound is consistently strengthening and evolving, and amidst this progression, we are open further to incorporating even more styles into our music.
The last two years have been both encouraging and exciting in equal measure; beginning with our first live performance in July of 2009 at MusicTek Studios to the present; where have performed at such famous venues like ‘The Monto Water Rats’ Theatre, London and The Bridgehouse II, Canning Town. In between, we have headlined The South Ockendon Music Festival, Romfest, The Havering Show, The Harold Hill Summer Festival, The Dagenham Town Show and have played at local schools, pubs, clubs, colleges, theatres and private parties. We were also given the opportunity to be interviewed live on LINK FM in the autumn of 2009, presenting the first exclusive play of original song ‘The Stranger’. In addition to our more local performances, we have played a handful of gigs as far away as North Devon, one of these being in Croyde\'s famous Freehouse, The Thatch, where we played a 20 song-strong set-list.
Dead Baby Birds have recently released their Debut EP entitled ‘Roadkill’ which is available on all Online Music Distributors such as iTunes, Amazon MP3, emusic, Spotify, Nokia and many more. It is also available for purchase in a CD format, you can receive your copy by contacting – email@example.com. The six track ‘Roadkill EP’ was recorded throughout April 2011 at Soundlab Studios, Loughton.
We are currently juggling our time in rehearsals and writing sessions for a line-up of forthcoming appearances in the future such as; a performance at the Broadway Theatre, Barking (where we will be supporting ‘Missing Andy’ and some other great acts. DBB have also been given the opportunity to perform a short set at the London Palladium in 2012!
Dead Baby Birds appreciate, and thank you for all your support. See you on the road!
