Biography

"Death by Ambition are more than bang for your buck...Since forming in June 2010, the four piece have acquired a dedicated following on the local scene, by bringing their progressive and anthemic sound – à la Biffy Clyro – to venues across the city. " - THE METRO

"The Glasgow based rockers got our juices flowing with their upbeat tunes and atmospheric sound." - OTZIUK

Formed in June 2010, Death by Ambition is indeed the result of songwriters/guitarists Christopher Harkin and William Downie's drive, motivation and desire to create something that would set them apart from other more modern bands. Both Christopher and William wrote a wealth of alternative, bouncy material that would flatter their intricate and skillful styles.

Following a period of songwriting the band had the addition of Mark Paterson on bass. He re-energised and gave more substance to the band's sound with his upbeat and passionate riffs. Finally the band found what they were looking for with James Brown on drums. His energetic punk drum style complimented the bass and the band set out in the vein of their heroes Biffy Clyro and Sucioperro. After months of gigging around Glasgow in venues such as Capitol, Barrowland 2, The Arches, Maggie May, The Audio Lounge, Box and King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, whilst supporting the likes of Former Ghosts at Glasgow Arches and Event Horses at Pivo Pivo. They have built a reputation as raw and passionate live performers.

Death by Ambition. They dare to bring something new to the modern music scene. Their debut EP 'Everything Popular is Wrong' ,recorded at The Audio Lounge Studios, is now available and the band will continue gigging in Glasgow.
