From London, UK, Plastique is a British/Brazilian band filled with pounding dance beats, power-chords, dirty synths and so-sexual-it’s-almost-perverted vocals and lyrics.
Gabriel (a producer) and Anelise (an actress) met in London in 2005 and quickly became good friends. They had planned to write music together, however she was already due to return to her native Brazil later that year, so the project was indefinitely put on hold. Back in Brazil she met Fabio (a graphic designer) and returned to London with him in 2009. Reunited; Gabriel, Fabio and Anelise started writing and recording music together as Plastique in late 2010 and throughout 2011; combining their individual styles and influences for a rock/dance album like none-other. It may be familiar to fans of PJ Harvey, Garbage and Nine Inch Nails, but holds a unique contemporary sound.
Plastique’s debut album was released on their website at www.plastiqueband.com on November 21st 2011 via Bandcamp. iTunes, Amazon and more.
PJ Harvey, Garbage, Pink Floyd, Bjork, Smashing Pumpkins, Death in Vegas, Goldfrapp, Queens of the Stone Age, Queen, Michael Jackson.
