Red Bull Bedroom Jam, now in its sixth year, is an opportunity for young bands to build their career in music, step by step.
From the bands that enter:
To enter, all you have to do is fill in a profile for your band and upload your video to www.redbullbedroomjam.com. Simple!
Your band must all be over 14 years old and 1 member must be under 21. (Please see T&C’s for further details).
Once you have uploaded your video, it will be monitored and ranked on the Buzz Chart. This clever chart is designed to measure the amount of buzz bands are creating across the web, monitoring Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and many other sources of online activity. The more you get people engaging with and talking about your band across the internet, the higher you will rise in the chart!
Every week, for 15 weeks, we take the band at the top of the Buzz Chart and give them the chance to perform from their bedroom; this is then broadcast over the internet the following week. Once the bands have made it to the live shows, they move into the Festival Buzz Chart.
8 bands from the 15 live shows will go through to the next round to play at 4 of the best UK festivals: Slamdunk (26-27th May), Download (8-10th June), Sonisphere (6-8th July) and Hevy Festival (3rd-6th August).
The 1st band that progresses on to the Festivals is determined by the Festival Buzz Chart and the remaining 7 bands are selected by a panel of 3 expert judges:
Andy has been booking Download festival since its inception in 2003.
Beckie is an agent specialising in rock and metal music. Her currents clients include Architects, My Passion and Devil Sold His Soul.
Ben is the editor of Rock Sound magazine.
Following the Festivals, three final bands will be selected by the panel of experts to take part in the live final, broadcast from Red Bull Studios. The champion, decided by public vote, will receive two weeks recording time in the Red Bull Studio as well as the chance to join a headline act on tour.
As a new feature to the project this year, the three finalists will also have music videos produced for them.
